Quick Start

aura is easiest to learn when you connect one source and complete one real task. This guide walks you from sign-in to your first useful result.

1. Sign in

Create an account or sign in, then open your Dashboard. This is where you check connection status and jump into the rest of the product.

2. Connect your first source

Open Connections and connect at least one source. The most useful default setup is:

  • one email source, such as Gmail or Outlook
  • one knowledge source, such as Notion or Jira

If you want to work with files right away, use Prism. Prism does not need a separate integration. Just upload a document and start asking questions.

3. Set your timezone early

Open Settings and confirm your timezone before you rely on time-aware workflows.

This matters for:

  • reminders and schedules
  • calendar-related timing
  • aura chat queries like what is due today, what is happening this afternoon, or what should I follow up on this week

If your timezone is wrong, time-aware answers can drift from your actual day.

4. Run your first query

From the Dashboard, open chat or search and try a query based on one of your connected sources:

  • emails from Sarah about pricing (Gmail or Outlook selected)
  • jira tickets blocking launch (Jira selected)
  • notion page about onboarding (Notion selected)

You should see relevant results and the source they came from. If results look thin, give the first sync a few minutes and try again.

5. Choose your next workflow

Once your first query works, move into the workflow that matches what you connected:

  • Use Glance if you connected Gmail or Outlook and want a daily briefing.
  • Use Prism if you want grounded answers from uploaded documents.
  • Use Connections if you want to add more sources before going deeper.

What success looks like

By the end of this setup, you should have:

  • at least one connected source
  • the correct timezone saved
  • one query that returns useful results
  • one workflow you can return to next time
